Near & Far Aid, a nonprofit that fights poverty, will be visiting coastal homes in Fairfield, Southport and Westport from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on May 12, according to event organizers, who said each home “promises to offer unique architectural appeal and fresh design perspective with recently re-imagined interiors from top local designers.”
The first event of the day - a pre-tour Designer Breakfast - is expected to kick off at 9 a.m. at the Patterson Club, according to organizers. Scheduled to appear during the breakfast are award-winning husband and wife design duo Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller.
Organizers said the pair will inspire attendees by offering a mixture of timeless and contemporary interior design ideas.
An Afternoon Tea Party catered by Royal Tea Company is scheduled for 1 p.m., organizers said, adding that traditional English tea will be served in a private home.
“We’re incredibly thankful for our large team of dedicated volunteers and amazing local sponsors for their support,” said Jen Agne, co-chair of the 2017 Designer House Tour and a Fairfield resident. “Every dollar raised goes toward funding programs that fight poverty and help improve the lives of those in need across Fairfield County.”
Tickets to the event are $65 in advance and $75 on the day of the tour, organizers said. The Designer Breakfast costs an additional $75 while the Afternoon Tea Party costs an additional $40.
